KEY-PUNCH
A machine with a typewriter-like keyboard which punches rectangular holes in a card, enabling an operator to record data from (see) Source Documents resulting in a standard code pattern so that the data may be “read” into the computer for processing or storage. For the most part Key-Punch now means the direct recording of data into the computer memory, (key-punch) cards are used little if ever.
